Refund Policy
We understand that sometimes plans change. However, because we schedule instructors, reserve training equipment, and incur costs for each class, we have established the following refund and cancellation policy to protect our business while accommodating our students to the extent possible. By registering for a course, you agree to these terms.
All sales are considered final after the applicable cancellation period (see below). We cannot offer last-minute refunds due to the costs and commitments involved in holding a class (such as instructor time, materials, and third-party fees) . Please review the conditions below:
Cancellation by Student
-
Advance Cancellation (7+ days prior to class): If you cancel your registration seven or more days before the class start date, you may request a refund of the course tuition. A cancellation processing fee of $25 (or a percentage of the tuition) will be deducted to cover administrative costs . Any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf will also be deducted (see Non-Refundable Fees below). The remainder of your paid tuition will be refunded to your original payment method.
-
Late Cancellation (Less than 7 days prior): If you cancel within 7 days of the class, no refund will be issued . This is because it is often too late for us to fill your spot, and we have already committed resources for your participation. However, you may be eligible to reschedule for a later class (see Rescheduling policy below). We encourage you to notify us as soon as possible if you cannot attend, so we can work with you on alternatives.
-
Illness or Emergency: If a genuine emergency or sudden illness prevents you from attending, please inform us at least 48 hours before the class if possible. At our discretion, we may allow a one-time reschedule without penalty in these circumstances, especially if documentation is provided. We do not generally offer refunds for last-minute emergencies, but we aim to be understanding and will try to accommodate you with a makeup class credit when feasible .
-
No-Show or Same-Day Cancellation: Failure to attend the class without prior notice (a “no-show”), or cancelling on the day of the class, is not eligible for any refund. In such cases, you will forfeit the course fee. We will, however, allow you to reschedule for a future class date, but a rescheduling fee of $50 will apply (see Rescheduling below). If you do not utilize the make-up opportunity within the allowed timeframe, your fee will be lost.
-
Late Arrivals: It is crucial to arrive on time. If you are late beyond a grace period (generally 15 minutes, unless otherwise specified), you may be denied entry to avoid disrupting the class, especially if critical content has already been covered. Such cases will be treated similar to a no-show – you will not receive a refund, but you may reschedule with the applicable fee. If you know you will be slightly late, please contact us immediately; at the instructor’s discretion, arrangements might be made, but this is not guaranteed.
Rescheduling Policy
We understand that you may prefer to move your registration to a different date instead of cancelling entirely. Our rescheduling rules are as follows:
-
Reschedule with Sufficient Notice ( > 72 hours): You may reschedule to a different class at least 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled class for no charge. We will transfer your enrollment to the new date one time as a courtesy. (Limit: one free reschedule per registration. Additional changes may incur a fee.)
-
Reschedule on Short Notice ( < 72 hours): If you request a reschedule within 72 hours of the class start, a late rescheduling fee of $50 will be charged . This fee helps cover the disruption and last-minute vacancy caused by the change. The $50 must be paid before you can attend the new class date.
-
Reschedule after No-Show: As noted above, if you miss your class without notice, you can reschedule for a future session within a limited period (usually within 60–90 days of the missed class, subject to availability). A $50 reschedule fee will apply for a no-show makeup class . No-show makeups are offered once; if you fail to attend the make-up class, the credit is lost.
All reschedule requests must be made by contacting our office (phone or email). Rescheduling is subject to availability in upcoming classes. We will do our best to accommodate you in a class that fits your schedule , but please note that popular classes fill up quickly and your preferred date may not be immediately available.

Non-Refundable Fees and Materials

Certain components of our courses involve external costs that we cannot recover once incurred. These items are non-refundable, even if a refund or credit is granted for the tuition portion:
-
Certification Fees: If your course includes a certification card or e-certificate from a certifying body (e.g., American Heart Association eCard), the cost of that card or processing fee (typically a fixed amount per student) is non-refundable once we have processed your course completion. (In cases of advance cancellation, if we have not yet issued or ordered the certification, we will not deduct this cost.)
-
Course Materials: If we provided you with any physical materials (books, manuals, masks, etc.) that cannot be reused, the cost of those items may be deducted from any refund, unless you return the materials in unused condition before the class date.
-
Online Course Keys: For blended courses that include an online self-study module (for example, AHA’s online portion prior to an in-person skills session), once an online access key has been issued to you, that portion of the training is non-refundable. Even if you don’t complete or use the online key, we incur the cost at issuance, so its value cannot be refunded. You may still apply the remaining balance of your fee toward a future class if eligible, but you might need to purchase a new online key if the old one expired.
These non-refundable amounts will be clearly communicated in the course description or during registration for any course where they apply.

Course Cancellations or Changes by Golden Hour

On rare occasions, Golden Hour Education may need to cancel or reschedule a class due to low enrollment, instructor emergency, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to cancel classes if necessary (for example, if minimum enrollment numbers are not met by a certain date) . In the event we must cancel or significantly change your class:
-
We will notify you as soon as possible via email and/or phone using the contact information on your registration.
-
You will be given the option to reschedule into another equivalent class at no additional cost to you , or to receive a full refund of all fees you paid for the class (including any normally non-refundable certification fees, since the cancellation is on our end). We will work with you to find a suitable new date if you choose to reschedule.
-
If a class session is postponed or interrupted (e.g., due to instructor illness part-way through, or a facility issue), we will arrange a make-up session or alternative arrangement to ensure you receive the full training. If you cannot attend the make-up session, we will treat it as a cancellation on our part and offer reschedule or refund options accordingly.
-
Golden Hour is not responsible for any travel, lodging or other personal expenses you may incur in planning to attend a class. We recommend confirming with us that the class is confirmed to run before incurring significant travel costs. In any case where we cancel a class, our liability is limited to the refund of the registration fee you paid , and we are not liable for other costs.

Refund Process

If you are entitled to a refund according to the terms above, we will process it as follows:
-
How to Request: Contact us by email or phone to request the refund, or respond to the cancellation notice we send. We may provide a form or written confirmation for the refund.
-
Timeframe: Approved refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days. Please note that your bank or credit card company may take additional time to post the credit to your account.
-
Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at purchase. For example, if you paid by credit card, the refund will go back to that same card. If the original account is closed or unable to receive a refund (or if you paid in cash/check), we will work with you to issue the refund via an alternative method (such as a mailed check).
-
90-Day Limitation: No refunds will be issued after 90 days from the original purchase date . (This is due to payment processor limitations and record retention.) If you are outside of this window, we can offer you a credit toward future services instead, at our discretion.

Additional Notes

Please ensure you understand these policies before registering. If you have any questions or unique circumstances, contact us in advance. We strive to be fair and understanding within the framework of these rules. Our policies may sound strict, but they are in line with standard practices for professional training organizations . They allow us to provide high-quality training without having to raise prices to cover avoidable cancellations.
By completing your registration and payment, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
